TFX Cuts First Tool
Thursday January 15, 5:42 pm PST

SAN CLEMENTE--January 15, 2004--TFX is located in Moorepark, California and is skilled in the creation of tooling for both large and small patterns. TFX used epoxy resin for the generation of PSI's tooling needs. Epoxy is more dimension- ally stable than polyester resin and will preserve the accuracy of the original pattern. TFX used a 5th Axis CNC router for cutting the top deck of the Igniter 330™. 5th Axis router utilized all the geometry produced from Powerski's Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire files to perform multiple passes to create the front hatch compartment of the Igniter 330™. Advantages of using 5th Axis allows complicated cutting passes to be establish effortlessly. Without having these features in the machining process geometry from the Powerski Igniter 330 Jetboard would of taking a great deal longer. Thanks to the technology TFX has provided we have reduced the time it takes to manufacture the tooling.
