Manufacturing Engineering Staff

In preparation for the move from Product Development to Manufacturing, PowerSki has strengthened its’ Engineering staff with two key hires. Leo Greene has joined PowerSki as Vice President Engineering. Leo was a Senior Technical Manager for PTC's Performance Teams Program and supported high profile organizations as Miss Budweiser Hydroplanes, Team Rahal, Richard Childress Racing, Toyota Racing Development, and others. Leo has focused his considerable skill on the completion of a total state-of-the-art CAD documentation package of the production Jetboard, including each component and assembly.

In conjunction with the production rollout, PowerSki has hired Mark Mulder to be our Chief Production Engineer responsible for ensuring that the delivered product meets our PowerSki Jetboard design and specifications criteria. Mark is a graduate of the University of Texas, Austin where he earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He brings over 5 years of experience working as Chief Production Engineer for Moss Motors and Jackson Racing where he worked with the Research and Development team and coordinated after market supercharger systems for Honda, Acura, Ford, and Mazda vehicles. Mark is well prepared to coordinate the transition of the Igniter 2000 Beta JetBoard into the Production Igniter 330 PowerSki JetBoard. We have the necessary personnel in place to handle the logistics and communications between PSI and our manufacturer. PSI had been very fortunate to acquire these individuals.

Production Tooling & Molds

The engineers at PSI feel confident of the design and reliability of the production PowerSki Jetboard. Working with PTC's Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire software combined with Hewlett-Packard's power workstations, our engineering staff can continue to develop new models and features for future production effectively and quickly.

Engineering production PowerSki Jetboard design lockdown by CEO Bob Montgomery on the Igniter 300 model opened the door for PowerSki to create the first of many production molds for the Jetboard hull. These molds were machined from a digital design image created by Leo and the R&D team. Product from the initial mold has been tested in calm waters and surf to great accolades from the PowerSki team riders. Prior to the design lock down it was never necessary to build molds. Now these new molds will allow mass production to engineering specified tolerances utilizing prepreg fiberglas material.

The engineering design lock down for production also allows PowerSki to order production tooling for capacity and cost improvement. A prime example is the recently announced PowerThruster 330 Jet pump. Len Hill, CEO of North American Marine Jet has produced the mold and delivered the first test sample of a 20,000 unit order for testing by PowerSki's R&D and Engineering teams.  "This is a major breakthrough," announced Bob Montgomery, CEO and Inventor of the Igniter 330 PowerSki JetBoard, "the PowerThruster 330 Jet pump was installed in less than 30 minutes. It has previously taken 1½ - 2 hours." This proprietary, patented power unit designed by PowerSki is 50% lower in cost than the off-the-shelf unit previously used. Montgomery went on to say that this new PowerThruster 330 Jet pump lives up to its name. It pumps a lot more water at low and high speed enhancing both low end thrust while increasing top end speed.

The PowerThruster 330 Jet pump completes the entire Jetboard power train assembly. This unique power train has a multitude of different application possibilities beyond the Jetboard. This is a huge business opportunity for PowerSki International Corporation to become a recognized leader in providing power train applications to significant markets including sailboats, tenders, inflatables, and markets from marine to utility.
