The opening event had an attendance of approximately 3,000 people at the International Ballroom - Washington Hilton & Towers.
The event centered around the SMBs of America and their use of the SBA to move their businesses forward. Bob Montgomery of Powerski International were seated up front on tables 1 with Robyn West, VP of SMB, HP Americas and Christopher Morgan, VP of Sales & Marketing Imaging & Printing Group. Also seated at the table were David Albritton, HP Director Public Relations Personal Systems Group, Laurie Benson, President & CEO of Inacom and James Barnes, HP Public Relations Manager.

The founder and CEO, Bob Montgomery started in his garage even after everyone told him, “your childhood dream is impossible, too difficult, you can’t build your own engine and will cost too much money”. After considerable research, Bob chose for his engineering team the best tools available. His choice was PTC’s Pro/ENGINEER running on powerful HP workstations. Bob built the engine and Jetboard in Pro/E and went through over 400 changes in design and machining.
